The following conditions can cause increased wear:

	High processing temperatures (reduction of high-temperature strength)
	High melt pressures in conjunction with high temperatures
	Fillers and/or reinforcing additives in resin formulation
	High friction - causing pitting and pock marking
	Corrosion by flame-retardant additives
	High throughputs causing high forces on the cylinder and screw.
